JillLebofsky reviews are desk research checked by a human editor. Drafts may be prepared with AI writing tools, but every fact is checked against its cited source before publishing. We rely on government health sources and human studies, keep money separate from findings, fix errors openly, and update reviews when the facts change.

Who is responsible for what we publish?

Claire Hadley, our Reviews Editor, is responsible for every review and guide on the site. She checks facts, sources and wording before a page goes live. Claire is not a medical professional. Our content explains what labels and research say. It is not medical advice, as our medical disclaimer explains.

Do we use AI to write reviews?

Yes, in part. Drafts may be prepared with AI writing tools. These tools help with organizing notes and first drafts, and they also make mistakes, including invented facts and misread studies. So we treat every AI draft as unchecked.

Before publishing, a human editor checks every fact in the draft against the source it cites: each dose, each study finding, each price and each refund term. Claims that cannot be matched to a source are removed. AI tools do not decide what a review concludes, and they do not publish anything.

Which sources do we use?

We use sources in this order of preference:

  1. Government health sources, such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, NCCIH and the FDA.
  2. Human studies and systematic reviews found through PubMed, read in full, or in abstract where the full text is not available.
  3. The product's own label, sales page, checkout page and refund terms, captured when we write the review.
  4. Complaint and enforcement records, such as the Better Business Bureau and the FTC, plus Trustpilot where a listing exists.

We do not use a brand's marketing as evidence that an ingredient works. Animal and test-tube studies are reported as such and never presented as proof of an effect in people.

How do we stay independent?

JillLebofsky earns money through affiliate links, as our affiliate disclosure explains. Commissions never change what we report. We do not accept payment for reviews, we do not let brands approve or edit our copy before publishing, and we do not remove a con because a brand asks. If a brand thinks we got a fact wrong, it can send a source through our contact page like any reader.

We do not give scores, stars or ratings of any kind. Each review describes findings, pros and cons.

What language rules do we follow?

  • We never call a supplement FDA approved.
  • We never say a supplement treats, cures or prevents a disease.
  • We never claim we took or tested a product. Reviews say they are desk research.
  • We report the dose a study used next to the dose on the label.
  • We do not invent numbers. Every figure in a review has a source.

How do we handle corrections?

  1. Anyone can report an error by email to editor@jilllebofsky.com. A link to a source helps.
  2. We check the report against the original source.
  3. If we were wrong, we fix the page and add a short correction note at the end saying what changed. Errors that affect safety are handled first.
  4. If we were right, we reply and explain which source we relied on.

We do not quietly rewrite a finding to hide a mistake.

When do we update a review?

We update a review when the label, price, refund terms or auto-ship rules change, when important new research or a safety warning appears, or after a correction. The update date shown on a page only changes when the content changes in a meaningful way, not for small edits such as typos or layout.

Our full review steps are on the how we review page.
