JillLebofsky is an independent US publication that reviews dietary supplements by checking each label against published human research. We read the doses, the refund terms and the complaint records, then report what we find in plain language. We do not test products ourselves, we do not score them, and we earn money through affiliate links.
What does JillLebofsky do?
Supplement sales pages are written to sell. They often list impressive ingredients without saying how much of each one is in the bottle, or they cite studies that used a different dose, a different form or a different group of people. Our job is to close that gap.
For each product we write down what the label actually contains. We compare each main ingredient and its dose with what human studies have tested, starting with the fact sheets from the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. Then we read the money side: the price per bottle, the refund window, any auto-ship terms, and the pattern of customer complaints.
The full method is on our how we review page.
Why are there no scores or star ratings?
A single number hides the details that matter. A product can have a well-dosed main ingredient, a weak second ingredient and a refund policy that is hard to use. A score blends those into one figure and tells you very little. So we do not give stars, points or ratings of any kind. Each review lists what we found, the pros, the cons and the open questions, and leaves the decision to you and your doctor.
Who writes and edits the reviews?
Reviews are edited by Claire Hadley, our Reviews Editor. Claire reads supplement labels, research summaries and refund terms, and she checks every fact in a review against its source before it goes live. She is not a doctor or any other kind of medical professional, and our reviews are not medical advice. Our medical disclaimer explains what that means for you.
Some drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools. A human editor checks every claim against the cited source before anything is published. Our editorial policy describes how that works.
What does JillLebofsky not do?
- We do not personally take or test the products we review. Our reviews are desk research, and we say so.
- We do not call any supplement FDA approved. Supplements do not need FDA approval before they are sold.
- We do not say a supplement treats, cures or prevents a disease.
- We do not accept payment for a review or for a better write-up.
- We do not answer personal medical questions.
How is JillLebofsky paid for?
When you buy a product through a link on this site, we may earn a commission from the seller or its affiliate network. Those links are marked rel="sponsored" in our code. Commissions never change what we report about a product, and a product with weak evidence gets the same plain write-up whether or not it pays us. The details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
Is JillLebofsky run by a person named Jill Lebofsky?
No. JillLebofsky is the name of this publication, taken from its web address. The domain once hosted an unrelated personal website, and the site has no connection to its former owner or to anyone named Jill Lebofsky. Every review is edited by Claire Hadley, whose name appears on each article.
